The Des Moines Founders Garden Club members helped with the site plan, platform, and plantings for the ceremonial Japanese Bell of Friendship and Peace, located on the Iowa State Capitol grounds. The bell represents the friendship between Iowa and Yamanashi, Japan, Iowa’s sister state.
